I often buy fragrance perfume gifts for female friends and relatives just to let them know I remember them on their birthdays and over the holidays. I have noticed that close friends and relatives are easier to buy for when it comes to fragrance cosmetics.  I find it very easy to buy my sister and mother fragrance cosmetics because I know what they like almost as well as they do. I know my sister likes fragrance cosmetics with woody and musky fragrance notes but doesn’t like florals. My mother likes spicy oriental fragrance notes which do not smell excessively sweet.
I also find fragrance cosmetics fascinating and I try to take my time to find something that matches the recipient perfectly whenever I am buying a perfume gift. If I am buying for a friend or relative that I do not know as well as my sister or mother I may ask some questions well in advance of buying a gift. For instance I asked my sister-in-law Brenda was fragrance perfume she was wearing a couple of months ago. She told me and I have made a note of it. I will not get her the same fragrance perfume but I will do a little research and find one that has very similar fragrance notes.
